....

After being crushed my the volleyball boy, she stammered off with her ruined shirt while he gazed at her until she disappeared into the sunset ....

I feel this quote has major significants because it is foreshadowing on what is coming up later in the book. it is foreshadowing that this guy, the volleyball guy, is going to come back into the story in a really big way. ive heard a little about this book and movie so i kind of know what to expect. i have like put two and two together and i think that ronnie and this "popular, vollyball player" will fall in love. I can not wait.

Ronnie is the main character in this book has to go to her fathers house for the whole summer. even though she has not interacted with her father in three years she is dreading it. when she was thirteen when her father left them and has been devastated ever since. Ronnie and her mother are not that close either so she has had really hard times with her parents. Her mother lives in new york but her father lives in South Carolina. this is a recipe for problems.

On the whole ride from new york to south carolina, ronnie was either yelling at her mother, yelling at her brother, or yelling to her mother and/ or brother about her father. and even when her and her family got to there destination, stuff did not really get better. Her brother and her father are really close but she is not bonding with her father. she feels that her father has pushed her too hard when he was around and in her life. he pushed her in her piano practice and studies. she would spend hours and hours sitting with him going over and over and over her lyrics and "chords". he forced her into doing a really spectacular event where she performed a sonnet. she actually really enjoyed it but that was one of the last times she saw him. it gives her bad memories...
