Pick a character that interested you ...

Monthly book review!!! yay..

The book that i am reading is a walk to remember. even though the book i had to read for lit circle group was "Nickled and Dimed", i read a walk you remember and i loved it with all my heart! it is my favorite book ever now. i highly recomend the book. not the movie. the movie just ruins this book. and if you have seen the movie or if you have read the book. just clear your mind of all the information of this story that you hold prior to this review. and just imagine all i say. this is the best way to read a review.

8. Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth.

i picked the character named Landon, Landon Carter. A nice guy from North Carolina that has some good, and some bad moments. He could possibly be one of the most changed characters that i have read about in any book in man kind. (bold statement!)

In the beginning of the book Landon was, how you say, insecure. he was not really popular and the only popularity that he had was obtained by hanging out with John. john, who was the star quarter back, was a very big influence on Landon. even though at most times it was a bad influence Landon could help but be his best friend. the bad influence directly caused Landon to be the way he was. no other person except maybe his father, caused him to be the way he was. the other person that could have efected him in the way he was was possibly his dad. but the difference between John's influence and his father's influence was that Landon did not, under no circumstances, wanted to be like his dad. its sad but he has pretty good reason. it because his dad has really never accepted him or the things that he wanted him to be. it is basically because his dad planned out his life before Landon was even alive. this caused many problems in Landon's life because he never really knew what to do once his dad
"set him free". then he started to mess up...

in the begining of the book he was kind of lost. he was looking for his spot in his school/ world. but of course, this was before he knew jaime. he was also kind of mean and stuck up before he incountered her. but she changed that. Imensely! but that is a different story. ill touch on it in a little. Landon never really fit in  but had a cool ass freind and he knew this. this bothered him because it made him feel that he was not really his ownn person or never really earned the respect that he had from his peers. he also did not feel that his life was earned in any other way. even including the money that his grand father obtained. he felt this in his heart because his grand dad did not ever work for his "earnings" really. all he did to get his money was lend money to the workers and the land owners that needed money to keep there work going during the great depression. and he would charge out ragoious interest charges so that they would end up going broke and owe him a lot of money on top of the money that they paid him in intrest. he was just a straight up snake and Landon knew it. he hated this. Landon honestly did not one time work to get anything by himself. this bothered him. this kind of made him a jerk because he was so mad about not having a place in his own life.

Then he met Jaime. Jaime was not really that much of a " cool" or "popular" girl in any way. She was not anything special so to speak but she would end up being special. Landon did not even feel that she was pretty or special or even cool in a some what kind of way. Jaime and Landon went to school together for so many years, twelve long years to be exact. he actually even did not even like her. to be blunt. lol. but he had enough common sense and respect top be nice to her though. he had a soft spot for her because it was so many years that she was kind of like a certain type of family. except distant and very annoying to him! some branch of family, right? but this year would definately change it.

Jaime was such a wonderful person that some people even hated her for it because watching her around people mad you feel like a bad person because she was just so wonderfully nice. it was amazing to think that but i guess that it is plausable. ridiculous idea but it truly did happen. it makes me feel really, really bad. She was the pastor/ reverands daughter and was the perfect little teenager. basically no flaws. crazy right? Landon on the other hand, you basically know. he was opposite. well to say it as nice as possible. but saying the opposite of Jaime really could not be nice. it cant even mean anything nice. well referring to anything nice. who would expect what was going to come next. i am not going to ruin the book and tell you how he changes, or how he and Jaime end. Just read.

it is a cliche ass love story. good sweet and pretty girl, falls for the "bad boy". but it is not that. in short terms, this book will just play every heart in and make it just fall for this cute couple. i loved this book. and i honest to god, with all my heart and soul, do not watch the movie. READ the book. arguably the best read in the world and possibly one of Nicholas Sparks' best book. It is just amazing!!!

With education, you can make your lif...

With education, you can make your life much easier and it won't be a pain to get a good paying job when you get out of school into the real world. The people that she works with in the book are the example of people that did not think of the future leading them into not applying themselves to there school. I am sure they would love to go back in time and does their homework, get good grades, and then go to college and not have dropped out of high school.

What is your guy’s favorite part of the book so far? i am not really feeling this book even though it is an easy reader. like the topics are understandable but not interesting. that type of easy reader. I really like how she explains how the people she works with have a bunch of other jobs other then the one they are at with her. meaning that they are not even getting paid enough with just one minimum wage job, so they need another. this gives me an example of how not to do things in my life. i really do feel bad for these people but at the same time i am putting all my will power into not leading type of life. this is still going on around the country and even more so around the world. This really just brings out her point about the minimum wage not being enough to earn a living. her point should really help us as young adults to strive for better things so we do not end up like them. i feel bad for saying it even though it is not mean. i am not trying to knock these people's life style. i just dont want it. you guys get what i am saying. lets discuss this further in class like we did last time. LOVE TONE!!

Can you believe that her fellow emplo...

The fact that these people have the hardest jobs, and get payed the least really surprises me. People who do such hard work and work for such little pay and live in these conditions should be considered heroes.they are really the unsung heros of our world. they should actually get noticed and appraised for their diligence. its sad that they are even disrespected in some cases.

Can you believe that her fellow employees are living in such awful places? I remember that one woman she met was actually living in her car, and showering at another employee's motel room. I have just never realized what people living off of minimum wage are going through, and how hard their lives are. One company she interviewed for offered only two hundred dollars a week, and makes all employees work at least forty hours per week. That is less that one thousand dollars a month (eight hundred dollars a month). The rent alone at little run down places that she finds are a couple hundred bucks a month, and she also has to buy food and pay for gas. Speaking of gas, she was paying a fortune on it when she was working at her first restaurant, because she had to make a forty minute commute everyday. its almost worst than the situation for the other people in Florida.

She is wasting an entire year on this book but at the same time she isn't wasting her time, she is experimenting with it and seeing all of the outcomes of her decisions. Some people have an entirely different aspect of this book then me but maybe you guys know what I am talking about.

near the end of this section started to get better for her, but not by all that much. i am hell of happy for her success in finding jobs and keeping them for a substantial amount of time.

My grandma is about 63 years old. So ...

My grandma is about 63 years old. So that is approximately thirty years of technological advancements and price changes that now separates my grandmother’s childhood, from mine.

Question #1: How have the prices for the buses that ride through alameda changed in these many years?

Her: Prices for buses have changed by through out my life by such a great deal… I remember that a few friends and I would get fifteen cents a day from our moms. We were able to choose from two different things that we could do with that money. We could either take the bus to Park Street and hang out and have no money to spend while we were there, or we could walk from over by Washington Park all the way to Park Street to go swimming. So we would walk the distance and spend ten cents getting into the alameda high community pool. We stayed there all through out the day and on our way back we would get a chicken noodle soup from the dispenser and share it on the way home.

Me: Wait what do you mean by the dispenser?

Her: You know those hot coffee dispensers? It’s like that but hot chicken noodle soup in a cup. They don’t have them anymore because they found out they weren’t good for you.

Question #2: What was on T.V. when you were younger? And was the sitcoms, shows, and what not, the same?

Her: Hahaha. Aw, man. I used to watch the Brady Bunch everyday after school. They were actually only on from three to five and ten another network would take over. That was the worst time of the day for us and the little kids because the Brady Bunch was so popular. I liked Greg. And your Auntie Carol thought she was Jan and was in love with Peter.

Me: Whom did dad like? Lol.

Her: Your dad was in deep love with Marsha.

Me: What about for cartoons though, mom?

Her: Cartoons were only on Saturday mornings. Oh and the T.V. would turn off at midnight and then the American Anthem.

Me: Oh my god! Haha. That would suck

Question #3: What did you do for fun? I mean like from day to day.

Her: I liked to play baseball all the time! Like the neighborhood kids and I would go on these adventures and play all kinds a sports. I even used to play with your dad.

Me: You doing adventures and sports? What do you mean? And when the hell would you hang out with dad lol?

Her: Yeah adventures! Ya know? Like find something cool in the sand.

Me: Oh!! Haha that’s what mean. That sounds pretty fun. But yeah, you hung out with dad?

Her: Yeah! Not much but a few times here and there. Like we were friends but not really close yet.

Question #4: What about fashion back then?!

Me: What did you guys where in those days lol.

HerUmm. It was mainly bell-bottoms and halter-tops and daisy dukes and platform shoes.

Me: Hahaha. Wait not dad!!

Her: Haha. Him too! He used to look hella good. In those jeans and platforms with slicked back hair.

Me: Eww mom stop. That’s such a bad image! Lmao.

her: He was one foxy man. Haha. Alright, alright ill stop. But yeah it was very peace, lovey, and tripy. Nothing like your teen style today.

Dear Andre,

Dear Andre and also Ryan,

how do you like this book. i honestly do not like it at all. lol. the book is basicly straight repetition after repetition. to be blunt, i feel that she has a secret "system"/ agenda that she does through out the entire beginning of the book. first, she blabs on and on about her stupid problem with her job(s). either that she is too tired, does not have enough money, or wants to quite. biut honesly, i dont even know why she contemplaits quieting because that will put he even more further in her money accumulation for the month or how ever long she would not have a job. Dumb, huh, Andre? and on top of all of this she does not even have to be doing this to her self. remember how she had like a six figure job but put it off for a while to try out this experiment that she decided to do because of who knows why. YEAH i know. freaking weird as hell, huh dude. do not you think so, Andre?! what a bout you Ryan? do you like it?

Six figure job. her decision honestly makes not one little ity bity peice of sense to me. not one bit. like the idea of seeing how other people in different social classes have to do to get by in this world is pretty interesting, but this book so far seems to be written very unwell. i think that the potential of the rating of his book is very high. but after reading the back cover of the book the book my expectations were really really high. now i kind of wish that i did not read it because i really feel that this book is not good.

Bobert

There once was a food particle, that’s name was Bobby. He and his fellow amino acids formed a protein called cheese. This cheese added with the other ingredients, make the Italy’s infamous pizza. Bobby didn’t know much about the digestive system before today but he sure will soon.

It was the big day for bobby and the cheese, it was the day they were going to be assembled into a pizza and enjoyed by the customer. Him and all the amino acids were so juiced but little did they know they were soon to embark on an incredible journey through the human body.

“ ORDER NUMBER 78! 78 COME GET YOUR ORDER,” said the man behind the counter. An alone man came and picked it up,” Saying thank you,” while on the way back to his table. The man was ready to chow-down so he swooped up the piece that Bobby accommoded, and inhaled it like it was nothing. Bobby was astonished and horrified because now he was in the man’s dungeon. This was like no other place Bobby has been before. It was moist, humid, smelly, warm and there were massive white “things” that moved up and down. But weirdest of ALL, there was a very powerful slithering snack thing that was at the abyss of the dungeon. Within seconds of observing all these mysterious features Bobby found himself being squeezed by what he thought was an enormous snake because of the constricting walls that forced him into a giant pool of stinging fluids.

Bobby was even more scared now because the acids were doing something really weird! They were being squirted out little spouts on the roof of the stomach to straighten the protein monomers into long strings so the can be more maneuverable through the small intestines. Bobby had no idea what was happening and then all of a sudden a gapping hole opened up in the wall out the stomach and all that was in the stomach was emptied out into a long thin tube. Bobby wasn’t really that scared cause he wasn’t closhchiphobic. In this place there were spouts like in the stomach but these juices started to cut him up into smaller pieces called amino acids. We need the proteins to be broken into acids in order for Bobby and his friends to be absorbed.

Bobby thought he was tripping of the juices from the walls because he was really astonished at the fact that he was being absorbed by the walls. From the walls Bobby was swept away by raging blood in the artery running by the small intestines. Bobby thought this was awesome! Soon he came to somewhat of an intersection. He was really bumbed out cause because he had to turn into smaller looking blood vessels called capillaries. Once he came turned he knew he would regret this immensely for the fact that it haunted him. What Bobby saw was enzymes attracting to amino acid molecules, sucked them in and spit them out as a fused together, protein polymer. Almost instantaneously a cell would pick it up, fold, and absorb it! At this point of the story Bobby really wasn’t trusting his eyes because he’s never seen these term of events happen before. Before Bobby could think if what he was seeing was actually happening, he was slurped by an enzyme and never heard of again.
